When I told everyone that I was about to go to Romania for an exchange for mentally disabled people, I really didn’t expect all those looks from my friends and family. First of all, since I’ve never had an experience in that field, they were all “Oh, come on, it’s too hard for you, you will never gonna like it, you’re gonna come back home after 2 days”. Plus, they were pretty skeptic about Romania. I didn’t have any holidays that summer, my skin was very white and my relatives had invited me to go to Calabria to visit them and enjoy the sea. “How can you prefer Romania to Calabria?!”. And also there was this subtle thing in the air that nobody wanted to say in order to not give a narrow-minded image of himself: Romania is dangerous, you gotta be careful to your wallet, and some few more absurd things. Of course these things didn’t make me change my mind at all. And I was very happy about it because the whole experience was amazing, kind of life-changing for me. When you’re about to do something, you always guess in your head how’s it gonna be like: I have to admit that I never thought I would end up liking this experience so much! The guys that participated to the exchange were amazing: when you have to deal for the first time with “special” people you always think “how can I help them?” or “what do they need?” and that’s a big mistake, especially if you are a youth leader. After spending 5 minutes with them I understood that they DIDN’T need to be helped, and they DIDN’T need me to do anything. They’re just regular people, and the best thing you can do is enjoying every minute spent together and have fun with them. And we all did. We did a lot of things together: we created masks, we learned how to juggle, we made costumes, we even put on a show! And everybody gave his own strong contribute to the final product. We also visited a lot of interesting things, and I gotta say that Romania is a very beautiful country. Oradea, the city were we stayed, is very interesting and full of monuments, orthodox and greek-catholic churches, parks. The mountain region of Bihor has a great natural landscape and to walk around the houses it’s like making a trip in the past. And of course also Romania by night was so cool: nice clubs and very cheap drinks! :). The Romanian hosting team, but also the Romanians in general, were the kindest and best people ever. I actually wish the experience lasted a little longer to get to know them better, but who knows, maybe there will be more projects to come!

ECHANGE DE JEUNES EN ROUMANIE

Le départ s’est bien passé, nous avons pris l’avion en début d’après midi et nous sommes arrivés dans l’aéroport en Hongrie en fin d’aprèm. Nous avons pris le bus pour nous rendre dans un gîte à la campagne. Nous avons fait alors fait la connaissance des autres étrangers, j’étais angoissé de ne pas pouvoir communiquer avec eux. A la moitié de la semaine nous avons été emmenés en ville à Oradea. C’est une ville pauvre mais très accueillante et très animée le soir. Je retiens de bonnes soirées avec tout le groupe. Nous nous sommes bien amusés. Ciao bye bye

Ce que j’ai apprécié en Roumanie, c’est l’architecture et les paysages. Les roumains sont accueillants et souriants. Les seuls inconvénients ont été le changement de manière subite de climat et la nourriture – qui nous a rendu malade. L’échange culturel était sympathique. En conclusion, je garde un très bon souvenir de cet échange et j’espère renouveler l’expérience. Meci

Le voyage en Roumanie était bien, j’ai aimé prendre l’avion. Arrivés là-bas, le soleil était lourd. Les activités étaient bien surtout celles que j’ai retenu : piscine, jonglage, théâtre. Les soirées étaient bien, on s’est bien amusés. La boisson n’était pas chère, tout comme le marché que l’on a visité. Le premier lieu d’hébergement était sympa, le second moins bien. Ce qui n’était pas très sympa (mdr) c’était le petit-déjeuner parce que le saucisson, les poivrons et les tomates, non merci ! :) Mais je ne retiens que de bons moments et surtout l’échange culturel.

Cet échange était très intéressant. C’était la première fois que je prenais l’avion alors j’ai eu un peu peur. Au début j’avais peur de ne pas comprendre les autres à cause de la langue mais en fait, on a trop déliré ! :) Il faisait très chaud et j’étais un peu fatiguée mais c’était quand même super. J’espère revoir certains jeunes, peut-être dans un autre échange…

Cet échange était vraiment super bien ! J’avais déjà pris l’avion mais j’étais trop petit pour m’en rappeler alors j’avais un peu peur d’être malade… ? Les gens étaient supers en Roumanie, j’ai même fait une partie de Volley avec des gens que je ne connaissais pas. A la fin de l’échange, tout le monde était malade…et très fatigué (aussi à cause des soirées au bar)… :) C’était une très bonne semaine, c’était très drôle.

"Rumania un país con agua caliente"

España y Rumania tienen una relación directa ya que en nuestras ciudades y pueblos viven y trabajan muchas personas de Rumania. Cuando los jóvenes participantes dijeron en sus casas que iban a ir a Rumania en un intercambio rápidamente se acordarón de sus compañeros de trabajo o vecinos que son de Rumania. El intercambio ya empezó así pues en nuestra propia ciudad de Logroño. Los compañeros rumanos que viven aquí en Logroño enseguida les dijerón que ibámos a una bonita ciudad, haciendo patría de su país. Nuestro grupo de jóvenes estaba compuesto por jóvenes con discapacidad intelectual leve y desde el primer día hasta el último disfrutarón mucho de la experiencia del intercambio. En la montaña en Galbena pasamos dos días muy buenos, ya que vivir todos juntos en un entorno tan bonito unió mucho a los participantes y además nos encantó la barbacoa con especialidades rumanas. Una de las cosas que más nos llamó la atención fueron las piscinas termales de agua natural, ya que aquí en España no existen. Era realmente un placer sumergirse en una agua caliente. Sin duda después de las excursiones y visitas podemos decir que Rumania es un país interesante que puede ofrecer cosas difirentes, que con el tiempo y con una buena gestión de los recursos llegará a ser un país visitado por muchos turístas. Por último queremos agradecer a la organización de acogida su esfuerzo y energia para organizar este intercambio.
